Komatsu Rental customers can take advantage of the productivity and accuracy benefits of Komatsu’s Intelligent Machine Control (iMC) technology, available on selected Komatsu dozer and excavator models.
iMC is a fully integrated machine control system that delivers our hire customers significant improvements in efficiency and productivity compared with conventional construction processes.

Each model in Komatsu Rental’s iMC range of machines incorporates as standard a factory-installed fully integrated machine control system that provides unique and unrivalled levels of production, precision and efficiency.

This deep integration of 3D machine control components at factory level – including stroke sensing, load sensing and automated technologies – gives customers the edge in all applications.

Our iMC system is based around the 3D GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System). This technology provides our customers with a solution to a major challenge facing Australia’s construction industry: the lack of skilled operators at a time when clients are demanding ever-higher levels of precision along with increased productivity.

Available for selected Komatsu dozer and excavator models, and designed from the start to work with Komatsu’s SMARTCONSTRUCTION drone technology (also available through Komatsu Rental), these fully integrated iMC systems ensure significant improvements in efficiency and productivity compared with conventional construction processes.

Komatsu intelligent Machine Control is designed to let operators focus on moving material efficiently – from bulk excavation to final trim – without having to worry about over-excavation or damaging the target surface – vastly speeding up site earthworks, while delivering greater precision and accuracy.

What does iMC include?

Automated blade and semi-autonomous control, from bulk excavation to final grades.

Auto grade assist. When the operator moves the arm, the boom adjusts the bucket height automatically, tracing the target surface and minimising digging too deep. This allows the operator to perform bulk excavation without worrying about the design surface.

Multiple automated dozing modes, with auto grade assist, auto stop control and minimum distance control for the excavator, ensuring jobs are finished faster, more accurately and with minimal rework, so you move dirt once, first time every time
