Komatsu End of Year Update 2020

On behalf of Komatsu, we thank you for your support throughout the year as we navigated the challenges of 2020. The bushfires, COVID-19 pandemic, market fluctuations and industrial disputes have surfaced incredible ingenuity and resilience in our people, our customers and our communities.

COVID-19 Update

We remain committed to mitigating the business risks associated with COVID-19. Our Komatsu planning team unrelentingly ensure we execute targeted, expedient, and effective business continuity plans. We continue to align with Federal and State COVID-19 guidelines regarding social distancing, self-isolation, workplace hygiene and international travel restrictions. Despite the easing of restrictions, safety remains our number one priority and we continue to adjust our protocols as we cautiously navigate the new ‘normal’.

We have re-opened our doors to customers and visitors and ask that when you visit a Komatsu branch, you complete a temperature check and health declaration, and sanitise your hands. COVID-19 has not gone away.

The details of all Komatsu’s COVID-19 protocols are conveniently available for our customers, partners and employees. We have details on our COVID-19 response on our website www.komatsu.com.au/covid-19.

Supply Chain Update

We remain confident at meeting the parts requests of our customers and continue daily communication with our factories and supply partners, both locally and globally. The greatest impact on our supply chain at present is the ongoing industrial disputes affecting operations at various wharves across the country. Port congestion in Australia is starting to cause significant impacts on Sea Freights into Australia.

On top of reduced capacity out of Asia, we are starting to see delays on inbound shipments in both Australia and New Zealand. We anticipate this to continue into 2021 and have placed stock orders on our suppliers based on our standard internal protocols with the additional distribution of high demand parts to branches.

Manufacturing, Equipment Assembly and Reman Components

Over the holiday period our teams will continue to work on your machines after a well-earned break. We do not anticipate any impact to machine deliveries or Reman components. We continue to monitor our production schedules in conjunction with supply chain changes to determine possible delays.
