For the ninth consecutive year, Komatsu’s Apprentice.Kom team hit the road as part of the Great Endeavour Rally, one of Australia’s longest running and most loved charity motoring events.

This year’s route took participants from Bathurst to Batemans Bay, winding through remote and rugged terrain, with Apprentice.Kom providing critical mechanical support every kilometre of the way.
Unlike most of the rally teams that are focused solely on adventure, Apprentice.Kom vehicles serve a dual purpose. They’re workshops on wheels, crewed by Komatsu apprentices who provide on-the-spot mechanical assistance to any team in need. This year their roadside repairs included bleeding clutches, replacing a head gasket, changing numerous tyres and replacing a failed viscous fan hub to name just a few.

This hands-on experience is invaluable. Working under pressure in remote conditions helps our apprentices sharpen their technical skills, build confidence, and learn the importance of teamwork and resilience.
Over nearly a decade, Apprentice.Kom teams have raised more than $100,000 for the Endeavour Foundation, helping Australians with disability access essential services and support.

But the impact goes beyond just the dollars. Many former Apprentice.Kom participants have gone on to form their own rally teams, continuing their involvement and contributing to the fundraising efforts independently.
The Endeavour Foundation is Australia’s largest non-government provider of disability services, supporting over 4,000 people across more than 230 locations in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. Their work empowers individuals to live fulfilling lives through tailored support, employment opportunities, and community engagement.

The Great Endeavour Rally is the Endeavour Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser, bringing together more than 200 participants to traverse remote and rarely accessed parts of Australia. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience, and our dedicated Apprentice.Kom teams are there to make sure every rally participant has the support they need to reach the finish line.
